Mr. Hasan Önder, the manager of Daikin in Turkey, announced that they will invest $53 million in Turkey next year.

Hasan Önder said they will introduce a variety of investments to increase production capacity of air conditioning and boiler appliances. Noting that they will establish a new line to increase the production of split air conditioners Önder said in this context: “We will increase our exports by 100 million dollars with the increase in capacity from here. Furthermore, we will establish the factory of multiple central air conditioning systems, called VRV, for the first time in the History of Turkey. We are planning to produce 50 thousand units a year, of which we will export 40 thousand.”

The company aims to increase our total exports to 430 million dollars.

Expressing that the company’s export growth will continue with this investment, Hasan Önder said “In 2021, we are going to realize a total of $ 53 mn. investment in Turkey. Thus, we aim to increase our total exports to 430 million dollars. This investment is an indicator of Japan’s Daikin’s confidence in Turkey’s economy and it will be the largest amount to be realized by the company, since it enters the Turk market.”

Stating that they will increase employment through investment, Önder stated that the current employment of 1400 people will increase to 2 thousand 100 next year by Daikin.

The pandemic featured house comfort

Hasan Önder explained that the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) pandemic affected the combi and air conditioner market and that there were some disruptions due to the slowdown in the supply chain.

Stating that the last 3 months were better than the same period of the previous year, despite their expectation of a big shrinkage, Önder said “Home comfort came to the fore more during the pandemic. We did not experience a contraction as expected due to the delayed demand.”
