Turkey cars and light commercial vehicles market grew by 72 percent, to 668.495 units, compared to the same period of the previous year.

Automotive Distributors Association (ODD) announced its November 2020 Automobile, Light Commercial Vehicle and Truck Market Assessment Report. According to the report, Turkey’s car and light commercial vehicle market realized 668.495 units growing by 72 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year. Automobile sales increased by 67.3 percent in the 11-month period of 2020 compared to the previous year and reached 529.388 units, while the light commercial vehicle market increased by 92.8 percent and reached 139.107 units.

64.357 automobiles sold in November

The automobile and light commercial vehicle market grew by 37.8 percent, the automobile market by 34.6 percent and the light commercial vehicle market by 52.2 percent in November 2020. Automobile and light commercial vehicle sales in November 2020 increased by 37.8 percent compared to November 2019 and reached 80.141. In November 2020, automobile sales increased by 34.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 64.357 units, while the light commercial vehicle market grew by 52.2 percent and reached 15.784 units.

The automobile and light commercial vehicle market grew by 1 percent compared to the average sales in November for 10 years. The automobile market grew by 7.4 percent compared to the 10-year November sales. The light commercial vehicle market, on the other hand, decreased by 18.7 percent compared to the 10-year November average sales.

Hybrid cars attracts costumer interest

Gasoline automobile sales had a share of 51.7 percent with 273.570 units, diesel car sales had a share of 40.4 percent with 214.072 units, and autogas car sales had a share of 4.2 percent with 22.344 units. 568 electric and 18.834 hybrid cars were sold.

In terms of engine volume, automobile sales below 1600cc increased by 68.1 percent, automobile sales in the 1600-2000cc range increased by 22.5 percent, and automobile sales over 2000cc increased by 2.1 percent.

In terms of emission levels, cars between 100-120 g / km had a share of 41.5 percent with 219.488 units, and cars between 120-140 g / km received a 30.1 percent share with 159.365.
